COACHES

Coaching Information & Resources

"A good coach can change a game. A great coach can change a life."      - John Wooden

Thank you for taking on this important role. The links below will take  you to different resources that will give you the tools to coach your players. Force Flag Football believes the success of the season depends on the experience of the player. That experience will be guided by you. To help facilitate your success, we believe that you need to focus on the following 4 areas.

  1. Be prepared: - Have a practice and game plan ready to go. Young athletes usually learn through visual and kinesthetic movement. That means that showing them a drawn up play, and then walking them through it, will be the best way to install plays.   - Use drills to improve their skills. - Make sure to have your team ball and any other equipment you need to run your practice.
  2. Grow as a coach/mentor: - Find opportunities to learn and grow as a leader and coach. Know your referees and commissioner. Ask them questions and get clarification if you need to. They are there to support you and the players. - Remember that you have your players eyes on you. Conduct yourself as a professional and refrain from yelling at the ref or opposing coach. This behavior is not tolerated in this league and you will be asked to leave the field if it happens.
  3. Enjoy the experience: - Have fun with this opportunity. Wins and loses are not what you should be focusing on. Watching your players improve and create a team bond is what is important.
